Card Expiration and Renewal
This article provides detailed information on what happens when a Rho card expires and the steps involved in the renewal process.
Card Expiration
Expiration Timeline: Both physical and virtual cards remain active throughout the entire month of their expiration date. For example, if a card's expiration date is August 5th, it will remain active until the end of August and will only truly expire and be canceled on the first of the following month.
Automatic Reissuance: Once a card expires, it is automatically canceled, and a replacement card is issued. For physical cards, the reissued card will be shipped to the same address as the original card. The new physical card will be sent out before the expiration date, ensuring that you have a replacement card ready to use without any interruption in service.
Managing Expired Cards
Recurring Subscriptions: Recurring subscriptions linked to an expiring card will be automatically transferred to the newly issued card. However, if a merchant does not support automatic transfer, the subscription will need to be manually added to the new card.
Important Notes
New Card Number: The new card will have a new card number. Card numbers are unique to each card, and therefore, any new cards will have a different number. Unfortunately, card numbers cannot be transferred.
Updating Shipping Address: If you wish to update the shipping address for a physical card, please reach out to Customer Service as soon as you receive the email notification about the card's reissuance.
Notifications: Clients will receive emails before their cards expire to help them prepare.
