Today, we’re excited to announce Departments, a critical enhancement to the Rho Budgets feature.
We've listened to customer feedback and implemented a wholly revamped experience for tracking spend and speeding up accounting.
Initially, Budgets was designed to help finance teams establish better visibility over how company spending is tracked against pre-set buckets.
As teams used their Rho Corporate cards, the view provided a visual and numerical summary of spending across any set budget in real time.
But as we imagined ways to improve Budgets, we focused on creating an experience that improved visibility at the department level and simplified accounting—enabling more strategic financial management in the process.
What's new with Departments
With the newly rolled out Departments feature, the functionality you're used to with Budgets is still there. But now, you can look forward to improved clarity around spend and better controls.
Here’s what’s new:
- Clear spend tracking: We've worked hard to ensure that it's clear what is spent on each Department and where you should take a closer look to ensure you are spending wisely.
- Improved settings view: It’s now simpler to see which Vendors, Users, or Cards are assigned and edit that if needed.
- Guided setup: When creating a Department, you can now add which Cards, Users, or Vendors should be automatically assigned to it, streamlining the setup process.
- Create departments from accounting attributes: Integrated accounting clients can now create Departments directly from their accounting attributes, aligning the Departments to their organizational structure.
But why the name change? We wanted to shift Budgets from a catch-all solution to a true spend tracker that aligns with your accounting needs as your business grows.
Unlock better spend visibility and control with Departments
At Rho, we’re focused on constantly delivering on our mission to make finance frictionless: a key part of this is making it easier to track spending. With Departments, we’ve enhanced the experience around budget tracking, allowing finance leaders and accountants to keep tabs at a glance—both at the department and card level.
