We are excited to introduce a new feature in partnership with Sunlight, a third-party vendor, that allows users to seamlessly switch their card details on external platforms to their Rho card. This article will walk you through how this feature works.
Important note: This feature will become available to all clients in the upcoming weeks.
Traditionally, clients who wish to switch their software subscription payments to their Rho card have had to log in to each platform individually and manually update their payment details.
With our new feature, users with the Manage Subscriptions permission can change subscriptions directly within the Rho platform. This permission is enabled by default for Account Owners, Admins, and Budget Owners. Users simply select the provider, input their username and password, and change the card automatically.
How can I use this feature?
To utilize this feature, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Cards Tab: Log into your Rho account and go to the Cards tab.
- Access Switch Subscriptions: Click on the Switch Subscriptions feature.

- Initiate Card Switch:
- Click on the Switch to Rho card option.
- Select the Rho card you wish to use and the vendor you want to update.
- Authenticate with Sunlight:
- You will be redirected to the Sunlight widget.
- Log in using your vendor credentials.
- Automatic Card Update: Once logged in, the system will automatically attempt to update the card on file.
- Confirmation: If successful, the vendor will be listed as updated in the table, and future payments will be processed through your Rho card.
FAQs
What happens if it fails? Users can attempt the process again if the card switch fails or times out. Sunlight has a high success rate, so retrying is recommended.
What if the vendor is not listed? Sunlight supports over 200 vendors and is continually expanding its list.
Can this change be reversed? No, the integration does not support reversing the change. However, you can simply make another attempt by clicking retry on that vendor in the table.
